The schedule for the coast sea-
son was adopted as follows:
Salary Kept a Secret but Is Not
$15,000.
Detroit, April 30.—Tyrus Cobb,
the sensational batsman who has
been holding out for a salary of
$15,000 a year, has signed a one
year contract with the Detroit
American League club. The sal-
ary clause was not announced.
Cobb conferred with Navin for
two hours. The outfielder said
TY COBB
he never expected the $15,000,
but had named this figure merely
as a starter.
It is understood Cobb will re-
ceive a substantial increase over
last year’s salary, which was
$9,000. He signed the contract
subject to his reinstatement by
‘he National Commission. He
probably will not play ball for a
week. Cobb said he refused to
seriously consider the offer from
the Cleveland outlaw league club.
