C. Wrinch, member for Omineca in the Legislature, and a member of the opposition party, went out of ; his way to praise the Tolmie government-for its provision : giving the right to prospect without fee to any person who has resided in the province for not less than six months. I WELCOMING VISITORS While on account of the somewhat depressing financial1 conditions many people have become rather disheartened 1 and have lost some of their enthusiasm, this should not' make us lose our desire to be hospitable. We can always Welcome visitors, even if we cannot treat them just the same as we did a year or two ago. During the next seven or eight months we shall be hav-j ing many prominent people come this way. While the time; we give them must necessarily be curtailed in many cases, owing to the fact that staffs' have been curtailed, we can still do our bit even if it is not such a big bit as formerly, j ENTHUSIASM Some of us who have lived in one place a long time and who have felt the buffets of time have rather lost our enthusiasm. This is not a good thing. It is the first sign of defeat The man who, like Mark Tapley, can keep jolly under the worst of circumstances is the man who will win out. ! Ve must above all be enthusiastic in regard to our own business or occupation if we are to have the success which we all desire. We must keep our enthusiasm for our homes and our families and our neighbors and our city. Without that enthusiasm life is tame.
