EE, eS HOSPITAL AND ZYMOTIC ILLS Lieutenant-Governor May Or- der Treatment of Certain In- fectious Complaints Over- ruling Hospital Bylaw. Prince Rupert General Hospital Bylaws have been approved by the Lieutenant-Governor in coun- cil. The Provincial Secretary informing the Hospital Board of this, drew the attention of the Board to the fact that under the Hospitals Act all hospitals receiving a grant from the Gov- ernment must treat certain cases of infectious illness (excluding very virulent types) under direction of the Lieutenant-Governor. The Provincial Secretary noted that Prince Rupert Hospital Bylaws include a clause stating that no infectious diseases at all could be admitted to the hospital, and pointed out that this was not in order in view of the Lieutenant- Governor's powers in this con- nection. He requested the Board | to take cognizance of this fact. This was agreed to by the President arf] members with the advice of Mr. C. V. Bennett, and the letter was filed. The coal mining interest is one of the very great value to the northern part of this province and is undeveloped. With the duty taken from. coke, our coal mining will be wonderful in- dustry and where hundreds of men are employed now, thousands will come. This point is one upon which Mr. Duncan Ross lays great emphasis in his public addresses, a “Unele Jerry,”’ who has a week- ness for things good to eat, has an exhibition of fine cauliflower, potatoes, carrois and pees grown in Kitsumkalum valley. — —— —— - We are offering fo quickly and will soon The Graham Island Oil Fields, Limited CAPITAL STOCK $1,000,000 amount of shares of stock at 25c per share; par value’ $1,00, These shares are going THE MACK REALTY & INSURANCE COMPANY SELLING AGENTS Cabbages—3 c per Ib. Victory crowned the bold brows of the Royal Blue _ Ribbonites today again. That formidable team met the Quilldrivers last night in a splendidly fought game and won by two runs, the score standing at 17 to 15 for the Royals. Quills even fortified as they were by the importation at urgent call of Toby from Mile 40, just missed success. They had led up to the seventh innings, but in the eighth the Royals got their own again. Royals have been starring it in such style this season that the win was expected. Umpires Sloan and Dunn again did fine work, and a big crowd hugely enjoyed a rattling good match, Your neighbor wants some goods and you have them to sell. You sell them and get good coin of the realm in return for them That is reciprocity. That is what Mr. Borden would ask us not to do because it is treasonable will lead to the loosening of the ties with the Mother Country. O, plain Consumer! You who work for wages, ’Tis true that you have been kept down for ages; ’Tis true that Reciprocity would give A better chance for such as you to live— O what a pity, noble son of toil, That Reciprocity isso disloyal! ’Tis true that en your purchases last year There was a tariff tax that made them dear; , Nearly three millions added to their cost, Which you may count as wages you | have lost. O, what pity to make food free Would be an act of such dis- loyalty! And, Farmer, it is also no doubt true for you; Your surplus products you would always sell, And so your hores: toil would pay you well. O, whata pity, iiller of ike soil, That trading with the Yarkees | isn’t loyal! Four dollars extra on each ton of ay; Ten cents a bushel more for oats, let's say: A better price for everything you had, And steady, big demand—-but O, how sad! O, what a pity such a chance must spoil Because the pact is wicked and disloyal!
